 The 2020 Schools Summits were designed to get young people involved in shaping Australia’s future. And get
involved is exactly what they did. School children from more than 500 schools across Australia participated in
the summits which were held across Australia for a three-week period from 17 March 2008.
The Schools Summit Report, "Voices of the Future" has just been published this week.
The Federal Minister for Edcuation, the Honourable Julia Gillard has said:
I have been singularly impressed by the passion and commitment of the many thousands of young people who
participated and who used this opportunity to put forward some really sound and important ideas about the
future challenges facing Australia. This report contains an overview of their refreshingly innovative ideas,
thoughts and solutions.
